About Clydach Tandoori

Clydach Tandoori is an Indian takeaway journey, established in Clydach by Mr Uddin in 1988. Known throughout South Wales as someone who is humble and entrepreneurial. He discovered his flare for business in the mid 70's and launched his first business, the famous Mothijeel Tandoori Restaurant. This was the first ever Indian restaurant on Woodfield Street in Morriston. Business was booming and the Mothijeel was a hit with the locals. His signature dishes were recognised far and wide.

Later, when Mr Uddin had an opportunity to acquire a site on Hebron Road in Clydach, he did so by launching the Clydach Tandoori. In 2003, he leased out the business to expand his business profile, opening additional businesses throughout Swansea, with locations in Sandfields, WaunWen, Townhill and High Street.

A father to six sons, Mr Uddin has been retired for more than ten years. His sons are now going to carry on in his stead by modernising and relaunching the original Clydach Tandoori and using some of his old recipes in order to spread his message and keep his vision going.

Mr Uddin will be more of a guest than an active participant in the takeaway, but he remains passionate about the business and does what he can to point his sons in the right direction. If you remember Mr Uddin, please do pay us a visit either for some lovely food or just for a chat!

We have been awarded the maximum food hygiene rating of 5 in our takeaway.
